About

The Intersection

I've been building things on the web since 1997 and making electronic music since the 90s. For me, these aren't separate worlds—they're two expressions of the same creative impulse. Code that paints. Music that expresses logic and becomes magic.

Current Work

Right now I'm building apps for Puter is an innovative open-source web-based operating system. So far I've contributed Voice Recorder, Camera, and Music Player applications that combine my passion for audio, pixels, and user interface design.

I also maintain Cloud Piano, a web-based piano that works instantly with MIDI keyboards. Check code projects page for more.

The Code Journey

My software journey started when I was 8 years old. I have been professional web developer since 1997. Over the years, I've been involved in some startups, mostly building creative tools such as Sumopaint — a drawing application powered by WebAssembly. I designed and developed the UI, built the communication layer between the UI and the WASM graphics engine, and created the JavaScript API which allows anyone to build image editors and painting applications.

I've also been involved with hardware project, the EKS Otus MIDI controller for DJs.

The Music Journey

I started producing electronic music in the 90s, back when SoundBlaster cards opened up new possibilities. I founded Subtraxx Recordings, a trance label so I could release songs of my friends, in 2009 I handed it over to Bonzai Music.

Over the years I've released music on labels like JOOF Recordings, Hook/Bellboy Recordings, and of course Subtraxx. I've collaborated with artists like Mikko Nieminen (Subliner), DJ Tab (AR52), Luke Chen (Fluid in Motion), Mr.a, and Olli Sovijärvi, exploring progressive trance and deep electronic sounds.

My albums include "Inwardgaze", "Sententia", and "Progress of Soul". Today, music is just a hobby.

Logical Creativity

The philosophy behind everything I do is captured in my essay "Looginen Luovuus" (Logical Creativity). Creativity and logic aren't opposites—they're partners. The best work happens when you understand what imagination really is and how it can be used in structured way to solve problems or to guide artistic exploration.
